Self-Directed Learning

One element of the curriculum at The UCL Academy that particularly reflects the Sponsor's vision of the education of the "whole person" is Self-Directed Learning.

Self-Directed Learning (SDL) is an extra-curricular programme in which all students participate as part of the longer Academy day. For a variety of sessions throughout the week, students choose from a range of activities that aim to develop a balance of Heart, Body, Mind and Spirit. Some examples of past and current SDL activities are Rugby, Genius Hour, Mindfulness, Yoga, Swing Dance, Mini UN, Latin  and Chess.
