Why work for us?

Striving for Excellence

An effective teacher is one who strives for excellence every day and cares deeply about students’ education. Here at the Academy, we look for passion and dedication in all our teachers, staff and leaders. After all, it’s what makes us thrive and continually improve the education we offer.

Our Vision and Values

We are committed to ensuring that all students have the opportunities they deserve, of which teachers play a pivotal role. Working independently and collaboratively, staff work tirelessly to ensure all students are offered the same varied and abundant experiences, irrespective of their background. As a member of staff, you will be equally supported by our collaborative ethos, providing you with the platform necessary to succeed in your chosen field.

Our Environment

As a new school we enjoy state-of-the-art facilities and the very latest innovations in classroom technology,  including Superstudios, subject specialism suites and demonstration theatres. We are sponsored by University College London (UCL), one of the world’s leading universities, which provides a range of exciting academic opportunities for our students and staff, including master-classes, seminars and summer schools, along with use of UCL’s laboratory, library and other teaching facilities.

The Academy is organised around five Houses with every student and member of Academy staff belonging to a House. Each House has its own Superstudio space and canteen area. All the space in the Academy belongs to a Household, whose members are responsible for ‘hosting’ those facilities for the rest of the Academy community.

Training Opportunities

We offer a teacher professional improvement programme tied into appraisal, which includes a specialist induction programme for ECTs, Teach First or School’s Direct trainees. Trainee teachers, as well as all other staff, have unlimited access to opportunities for self-development and Intensive weekly Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Furthermore, our exclusive partnership with UCL identifies all teaching staff as Associate Lecturers, affording them full access to unrivalled University libraries and resources. To view further details on our CPD opportunities, please see our brochure here.

Workplace culture and the happiness of our staff is paramount. In our commitment to our Wellbeing Strategy, we offer a range of benefits and support to our workforce. Some of the key benefits are as follows:
