Contract Type:

Permanent

Location:

Swiss Cottage, London Borough of Camden

Start Date:

1 September 2025

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and resilient Teaching Head of Year (Level Lead) to join our Academy. The ability to deal with issues and difficult situations assertively, utilising tact and diplomacy to sensitively diffuse emotionally charged situations is essential. The post will also require an individual who is understanding, caring and able to give students the confidence to bring their issues to you; as well as collaborate with parents and liaison with external agencies.

We Offer

• State-of-the-art classroom technology, including our unique Superstudios

• Unlimited access to opportunities for self-development and intensive weekly Continuing Professional Learning;

• A whole school wellbeing strategy;

• An exclusive partnership with UCL where staff have access to unrivalled University libraries and resources;

• A generous health care plan, including reimbursement for optical, dental, physiotherapy, 24/7 GP access and counselling services;

• Cycle to Work scheme with ample space for bike storage and Transport for London Season ticket loans available upon request;

• An ambitious and forward thinking ethos.

How To Apply

To apply please complete and submit a detailed application form, through the link provided. If you have any questions regarding the role you may contact HR on 0207 449 3080 (ext. 2162) for further information. Your application is a direct application to The UCL Academy.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments will be subject to receipt of satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, pre-employment checks and a probation period.

Please note that if you have not heard from the Academy within 2 weeks after the closing date, please assume you have been unsuccessful. We may interview candidates ahead of the closing date so early application is advised. The Academy reserves the right to interview and appoint prior to the advertised closing date, therefore early application is advised.

Earlier this week, 15 GCSE students enjoyed a trip to London's West End to watch a captivating performance of 'A Month in the Country' at The Donmar Warehouse. The students loved the many twists in the story & it was amazing to see actors such as Sophie Okonedo on stage!
