We are seeking to appoint a passionate and resilient Teaching Head of Year (Level Lead) to join our Academy. This role would suit a teacher who has an interest in developing their pastoral leadership in secondary education and may have worked in a similar role previously. The successful candidate will benefit from a reduced timetable. The ability to teach Science would be an advantage, but not essential for this position. We will consider applicants from all subjects taught at the Academy.
As a Head of Year (Level Lead) for one of the Academy’s year groups, you will work closely with senior management focusing on pastoral care, punctuality, attendance, behaviour and conduct, academic progress and developing whole school strategies in line with Academy improvements.
The ability to deal with issues and difficult situations assertively, utilising tact and diplomacy to sensitively diffuse emotionally charged situations is essential. The post will also require an individual who is understanding, caring and able to give students the confidence to bring their issues to you; as well as collaborate with parents and liaison with external agencies.
